I took the last 2 days completely off. Plan to get back in the pool today followed by a run.
I’ve been doing my blogging directly at wordpress @ training-log.triathlon-calendar.com
Keep up the great work everybody!

Oh it felt good to crawl back into bed this morning at 5:30. Somedays you just gotta listen to your body and take a time out. (that’s what I’m telling myself for an excuse :0) I kept having these short, crazy dreams about other peoples triathlons and training schedules. I must spend too much time here at 365 :0)
We decided to move our 90 minute run to Saturday morning this week so it was just an easy recovery type swim today. Our next triathlon, The Florida Challenge, is less than 2 months away so we really can’t start missing workouts during the coming weeks.
1200 yards:
1 x 300 free
1 x 300 free/back 25’s
1x 400 free, breast, back, free 25’s
1 x 200 free
I’ll try and get some video up of our swimming. Kali is working on her stroke and it’s a good thing to actually see yourself swimming so you can get an idea of what your stroke looks like. If you have the opportunity to have someone video your swimming I highly recommend it. Sometimes seeing what you’re doing is all it takes to make that one adjustment that can make a big difference in your swimming.
See ya out there!

Swim/Bike today. Tough swim, felt tired.
Easy spin on the Bike to work out some of the
soreness in our legs from our recent runs.
2500 Yard Swim:
1 x 500 warm-up
5 x 50 quick
1 x 1500 moderate
1 x 250 swim-down
45 Minute Bike:
Easy spin with a few overpasses. Those things never get easy!
The Newton 8 hour and 24 hour triathlon out in Aurora, Colorado just happened this past weekend. The idea is simple: the individual or team that completes the most triathlons in 8 hours or 24 hours wins.
The distance is 1/10th the Ironman Distance, so a .24 mile swim, 11.2 mile bike, and 2.6 mile run. You can do the legs in any order after completing your first lap in the traditional swim, bike, run order.
If you’re interested in this type of Ultra event then register early for next year. I read that the first 100 or so entrants this year received a new pair of Newton running shoes. That’s gotta be one of the best goodie bags ever!
See ya out there!

Today was a brick workout, 1 hour bike - 30 minute run.
We ran in our new Brooks Racers we picked up at Fit2Run
yesterday. Kali got the ST3 Racer and I got the T5 Racer.
We wanted to test ride them on a short 30 minute
run just to see how the feel. Very light weight but we think they’ll
work great as a racing shoe as opposed to our everyday trainers
which still have a couple months of life left in them.
Here’s some video and “stellar” audio commentary :0)

It’s Labor Day and we worked hard for our personal bests of 8:10/mile on our 10K Time Trial this morning. This is a big accomplishment for us as we normally run in the mid to hi 9’s per mile.
My calves are still screaming from a barefoot beach run I did a few days ago but never underestimate what your mind and body can do with practice and “stick-to-it-tevness”
Enjoy your day!

Just a short 30 minute ride during recovery week so Kali can try out the Litespeed before we decide to sell her Trek E7 bike. Here’s a quick video of her riding down the street.
Careful, it’s a riveting video! :0)
